An electricity pole has delayed homeowners in Clonaslee from extending their home, a councillor has claimed.
Cllr Seamus McDonald, Fianna Fáil, indicated that its removal is a priority when he raised the issue at a recent meeting in Laois County Council whom he called on to intervene.
He tabled a motion calling on the local authority to request the ESB to remove pole at the rear of Ross Tynan’s house at Clodiagh Way.
“There is an urgency as this gentleman and his family wish to build an extension to the house. He can’t commence work until the huge pole is removed at the back door of his house,” he said.
Edmond Kenny, District Engineer, replied in writing.
“The ESB has received a request to relocate infrastructure in Clodiagh Way. The matter is in the process of being dealt with by the ESB,” he said.
The issue was raised at the May 2023 meeting of the Borris-in-Ossory Mountmellick Municipal District.
