Laois Minister goes back to school in Africa

Minister Sean Fleming in Africa

Laois Minister Sean Fleming went back to school during a visit to Africa this week. 

Minister Fleming travelled to Ethiopia where he met with Non Governmental Organisations(NGOs) and officials working in the countries. He will travel to Uganda after touring Ethiopia.  

The Minister of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs with responsibility for International Development and Diaspora arrived in Addis Ababa in Ethiopia to begin his tour on Monday. 

During the trip, Minister Fleming spoke to Irish aid workers and citizens, diplomatic staff and members of the Ethiopian government. 

Minister Fleming reaffirmed Ireland’s support to Ethiopia, including finance for social protection, healthcare and economic reform programmes. 

He visited schools in Ethiopia and talked of the importance of education for children in the country, particularly for girls and women.
