Laois County Council has published the Christmas opening hours for its recycling centres in Portlaoise and Portarlington.
The sites are opening during the holiday season to help deal with the annual accumulations of Christmas packaging and Christmas trees.
Details of the opening hours over the Christmas Period for Kyletalesha Landfill and Portarlington Civic Amenity Centre were published on the council’s website.
Neither centre will be open until Friday morning this week.
The council says non artificial Christmas trees will be accepted free of charge at Kyletalesha Landfill site over the coming weeks until Saturday, January 27, 2024.
They are asking people to please remove all lights and decorations before bringing the trees to the landfill site.
