A charity which provides food and essentials to the homeless is holding an open meeting for new volunteers at Portlaoise Parish Centre.
Portlaoise Action To Homelessness(PATH) is calling on anyone interested in volunteering to call in to the Portlaoise Parish Centre on Wednesday, February 7 at 7.30pm.
PATH travels from Portlaoise to Dublin twice a week to distribute food and essentials to the needy living on the streets of the capital.
They posted a notice on their social media inviting new volunteers.
“Back by popular demand, we will have an Open Meeting at the Parish Centre tomorrow evening at 7.30pm. Anyone interested in becoming a Volunteer with P.A.T.H please come along. It will last no longer than 1 hour of your precious time © some of our committee members and myself will go through all that we do. And from there you can decide if you would like to be a part of our team. Eircode R32 FH67. Kind Regards, Jason Chairperson of PATH,” the charity posted.
The charity operates thanks to the help of local volunteers and is assisted by donations from local businesses in Laois.
