Laois County Council has impounded three donkeys in Mountmellick under the control of horses act.

Two white male donkeys and a brown male donkey were impounded on Sunday, February 25. 

In a notice issued today the local authority said horses, ponies and donkeys are required to have a passport. 

"Under Laois County Council's Control of Horses Bye-Laws, the above animals will be rehomed/disposed of if they remain unclaimed after March 5, 2024," the council stated.
