Portlaoise Men’s Sheds were the first Community Group in the Portlaoise Municipal District to be supported by Laois PPN with their Crime Prevention Initiative.
The Crime Prevention Initiative features Laois PPN’s Property Marker machine.
The Property Marker provides a unique identifier on property that acts as a theft deterrent and assists Gardai in the recovery of stolen property.
Portlaoise Men’s Sheds welcomed John Oxley, Laois PPN Secretariat Chairperson, Dan Bergin, Laois PPN Co-Ordinator and Majella Moore, Laois PPN Administrator to their Shed.
A tour of the shed was provided showing the different projects that are currently underway.
Portlaoise Men’s Sheds had a popular stand at the Live Well Expo 2024, displaying a model train track, bee boxes, bug hotels, walking sticks and much more. All products were crafted by the men from Portlaoise Men’s Sheds.
Dan Bergin, Laois PPN Co-Ordinator stated,
“Laois PPN wish to thank Portlaoise Men’s Sheds for their warm welcome. Portlaoise Men’s Shed have been involved in a wide variety of Community Projects over the last 11 years. Laois PPN were happy to support Portlaoise Men’s Shed with the roll out of our Property Marker. We wish them every success for the future.”
