There were 28 people recorded as homeless in Laois in April, according to the latest figures from the Department of Housing.
The number of people availing of emergency accommodation from the local authority during the week of April 22 to 28 remains unchanged compared to March figures.
Across the midlands there were 34 families in local authority emergency accommodation. This included 41 adults and 46 children.
There were 148 adults availing of emergency accommodation across the midlands during the week recorded in April. The majority were aged between 25 to 44 (71). There were 51 people aged between 45 and 64 and there were three people aged over 65 homeless in the region.
Nationally the number of homeless people in emergency accommodation has reached a record high of 14,000, including over 4,000 children.
