Lights vandalised on scenic Laois walkway

Vandalised walkway lights at Camross Community Park have now been repaired. 

A spokesperson for Camross Tidy Towns confirmed the vandalism has been reported to gardai. 

The spokesperson described the vandalism as disappointing but said work was underway to have the walk lighing again. 

“We have a wonderful walkway for the winter and the  lights come on by remote sensors when it is twilight. It is a problem that can be fixed but obviously we will have to look at the best solution,” they said before the issue was fixed. 

After contacting an electrician, the spokesperson confirmed the lights are operational again for evening walkers. 

Meanwhile, Gardaí confirmed that they are investigating the incident. They have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
