Laois Lotto winner has come forward

The winner of Saturday night's Lotto Plus 2 has come forward to receive their winnings.

The winning ticket was sold in Breslin's Supervalu Rathdowney, and the local community have expressed their delight for the winner.

The shop received a phone call from Lotto HQ this morning with the news that the winner had come forward. 

Mr Connell Breslin, owner of the Supervalu branch, has warmly congratulated the lucky ticket holder.

"It's a fantastic win for the town. We're trading over 15 years and this is the first big win for the shop," Mr Breslin said.

"We're all hoping it's someone local, that's just the nature of the town. Most of our trade is local, so we're delighted for whoever won- we'll know when we see who has a new car!" he said.

Mr Breslin's Abbeyleix Supervalu shop had a €250k winner four years ago.

"The staff are all very excited with the news- they all reported for work this morning, so we know it wasn't one of them!" he laughed.

"We are so delighted to have sold it, it's a great boost for the town," he said.

The winning numbers in Saturday's Lotto Plus 2 draw were: 1, 20, 28, 32, 34, 38, and the Bonus was 9.

The National Lottery is now urging all Lotto players from Dublin, Wexford, Laois and Kildare who purchased tickets for Saturday night’s Lotto, Lotto Plus Raffle and Lotto Plus 2 draws to check them very carefully as they’ve all won very substantial prizes.

The winners should sign the back of their tickets and keep it somewhere safe. They should make contact with the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for them to collect their prize in Lottery HQ.

The Lotto Jackpot of €2 Million was won and split between two players from Dublin and Wexford, each claiming a cool €1 million. 

The Dublin and Wexford players become the 8th and 9th  Lotto Jackpot winners of 2024.
