Laois TD and former Minister for Justice Charlie Flanagan has called his embattled constituency colleague Brian Stanley to speak Leinster House about the controversy that culminated in Dep Stanley's resignation from Sinn Féin.
The Fine Gael TD took to social media to make the call on Dep Stanley.
"Brian Stanley remains a member of Dáil Éireann. He should address the Dáil and use the opportunity under privilege to put facts on the record. We still do not know crucial information from him," he said.
The Fine Gael TD has been a constituency colleague of Brian Stanley since 2011 when Dep Stanley won a seat for Sinn Féin. More below X post.

Dep Stanley has issued a number of statements, including via solicitors, about the controversy including the first announcing his resignation from the party alleging he was the victim of a kangraroo court.
He has so far not made himself available for media scrutiny.
Mary Lou McDonald made a statement about the controversy in the Dáil on Tuesday, October 15. In it she said the woman who complained about the Laois TD was traumatised and distressed by what happened. Deputy Stanley responded to this by saying his former leader had abused Dáil privilege.
Dep Stanley has said he intends to run as an independent in Laois at the next General Election which will also mark the end of Dep Flanagan's time in Leinster House as he his retiring from representative politics.
