Funding of €271,296 to improve Laois water schemes

Money to improve the quality, quantity and reliability of the water services in rural areas 

Funding of €271,296 has been announced to improve water infrastructure in Laois with three water schemes in the county set to benefit. 


The Heath Group Water Scheme will receive €97,527, Cullohill Group Water Scheme will receive €92,619 and Errill Group Water Scheme will receive €81,150. 


The funding was announced by Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O’Brien TD on Wednesday, November 6 and is designed to improve the quality, quantity and reliability of the water services in rural areas.  


Welcoming the announcement under the  Multi-annual Rural Water Programme, Seán Fleming TD, Minister of State, said: "I want to ensure that our rural communities have the benefit of high quality infrastructure and water services. I have no doubt that the investment announced today will help improve these water services which will continue to support and encourage people to live and work locally in rural Ireland."
