Laois County Council has announced plans to make roads in Mountmellick, Portarlington and Portlaoise public roads

Number of roads in Laois housing estates being taken in charge

Houses at Harpur's Crescent, Portlaoise were completed in 2024.

Laois County Council is set to take in charge a number of roads in housing estates in the County. 


The local authority has announced its intention to make three roads in the county public roads. They include:  Grange Hall, Mountmellick, Vignoles Gardens, The Square, Portarlington, and Harpurs Crescent, Portlaoise


"Maps showing the various sections of road the subject of this Notice may be inspected at the offices of Laois County Council, Áras an Chontae, Portlaoise during normal opening hours (9.00 a.m.– 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday) from Tuesday 14th January 2025 to Friday 14th February 2025," said Simon Walton, Director of Services.


"Objections or representations regarding the proposed declaration may be made in writing to the Administrative Officer, Roads Department, Laois County Council, Áras an Chontae, Portlaoise, Co. Laois or via email to roadsadmin@laoiscoco.ie. 
"The latest date for receipt of any objections or representations is 4.00 p.m. on
Friday 28th February 2025."
