Ballyfin National School launches Dash to 44 challenge for astro turf fundraiser

Ballyfin National School is excited to announce the "Dash to 44 Challenge", a unique fundraising event set to take place on Saturday, March 22.

This extraordinary challenge aims to raise funds for the school's new Astro Turf facility while attempting a record-breaking feat.

Event Details:

  • Date: March 22, 2025
  • Duration: 15 hours
  • Goal: Run one lap of each of the 44 GAA club pitches in County Laois
  • Starting Point: Clonaslee
  • Finish Line: Ballyfin

The Challenge:

The "Dash to 44 Challenge" invites 50 brave runners to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Participants will attempt to complete one lap of each of the 44 GAA pitches across Laois within the one day.

This gruelling test of endurance and teamwork promises to be an unforgettable experience for all involved.

"This fundraising event is part of Ballyfin National School's efforts to build a new Astro Turf facility. The addition of this multi-purpose sports surface will greatly benefit the students and the local community, providing a modern space for various sporting activities," said the organisers.
