Laois SPCA found pregnant dog 'left in a shocking state'

Laois SPCA has issued an urgent appeal after they had discovered a starving pregnant dog left "in a shocking state."

The animal shelter said that they had a big job on their hands after discovering the dog who went on to give birth to ten puppies.

Two of those puppies sadly died as they "were not strong enough" and the SPCA now have to work to get the puppies and the mother back to full health.

"Will the cruelty ever end?" Laois SPCA said in a recent Facebook post.

"Time is flying and soon we will need foster homes for the pups and ideally we would love to have these all booked and lined up for when the pups are ready, in around 4 weeks after 1st vaccination," the post said.

Laois SPCA call on anyone who is in a position to help foster a puppy to click the link here.

We support all of our fosters through every step of the process.

All vet costs, food and bedding are covered by Laois SPCA," the animal rescue said.
