Burst pipe impacting estates of the Dublin Road.
A burst water main has cut the supply to many houses and properties in Portlaoise, with Uisce Éireann warning repairs could take most of the day.
Residents in estates on the Dublin Road side of the town reported a cut in supply on Friday, July 18 with Uisce Éireann confirming that a mains pipe is to blame.
Apart from confirming the burst, the official outage notice from the water utility also indicates that a number of areas of the Laois county town have been affected.
"Repairs to a burst water main may cause supply disruptions to Portlaoise Road, Portlaoise and surrounding areas in Co Laois.
"Works are scheduled to take place until 4:30pm on 18 July. MORE BELOW PICTURE.
"We recommend that you allow 3-4 hours after the estimated restoration time for your supply to fully return," said the fault notice on its website.
Uisce Éireann did not identify the location of the fault or the area impacted or the number of residents, homes or business impacted by the fault.
The Leinster Express / Laois Live has asked Uisce Éireann for more details.
