Over 2,000 people attended the event this year.
The hugely popular Laois Live Well Expo has been shortlisted for a national award recognising its role in supporting communities to live long, healthy happy lives.
The event, which celebrated its third year in 2025, is organised by Emma O'Connor of Healthy Laois and Tom Curran of Age Friendly Laois, backed by Laois County Council.
It has been shortlisted for the 2025 National Age Friendly Recognition & Achievement Awards in the ‘Active and Healthy Ageing’ category.
Laois County Council expressed their delight at being nominated.
"Over 2,000 people attended the Live Well Expo this year, held at Portlaoise College. They enjoyed visiting the various stands, our brilliant music, dancing, guest speakers and more. Thanks to everyone who made the event such a success, we’re looking forward to representing Laois at the awards ceremony in October!" said a spokesperson for the local authority.
