An organisation established to promote sustainability at events in Ireland has heaped praise on Forest Fest in Laois.
A successful homegrown event, Forest Fest 2025, took place in Emo over the weekend of July 25 to 27. This year's festival attracted thousands of revellers who came to see acts like The Manic Street Preachers, Franz Ferdinand and The Dandy Warhols.
The festival, which is the brainchild of Laois man Philip Meagher, also provided glamping, camping and camparvan sites to attendees.
Native Events is an organisation set up in 2017 in response to the lack of sustainable solutions available to the events and cultural sector in Ireland. They praised the organisers and the attendees at this year’s Forest Fest.
“Not a single tent was left behind at Forest Festival 2025 — No trace of tent waste, just good memories. It’s great to see the audience show respect to the environment, as well as the EMO Village GAA grounds in such a phenomenal way. To all of you who attended Forest Fest over the weekend you should be proud yourselves!” Native Events wrote in a social media post alongside an image of the grounds in Emo.
Forest Fest organisers had urged people to ‘leave no trace’ ahead of the three day festival in Emo.
