Laois Gardaí will be laying down the law on e-scooters as part of a National Day of Action today.
They will have additional patrols and checkpoints and will be enforcing the law in relation to e-scooters and electric bikes.
“Laois Roads Policing Unit will be rolling out extra patrols and checkpoints tomorrow as part of a National Day of Action focusing on Powered Personal Transporters (PPTs) That includes: e-scooters, e-bikes and anything else powered and personal,” Gardaí said in a post on Tuesday.
Laois Gardaí say they are not out to ruin anyone’s fun but intend to educate users and enforce the laws.
They urged people using PPTs to know the law and to take precautions and be sensible on the roads.
