A Portlaoise based charity is seeking help to clean hundreds of sleeping bags they recovered from the Electric Picnic campsites in Stradbally

“We went to Electric Picnic yesterday and collected up to 1,000 sleeping bags. They need to be cleaned,” Portlaoise Action To Homelessness(PATH) posted on social media.

The charity collects the sleeping bags every year. They deliver them to homeless people sleeping on the streets in Dublin and elsewhere.

Due to the volume of bags collected each year, the charity relies on the generosity of people in Laois to collect the bags and then wash and dry them before returning them to the charity.

“We will be parked at the front of Laois Shopping Centre at 6pm This Thursday at 6pm to 7pm for you lovely people to collect them from us to clean please,” they stated.

“We will also be there at the same time Thursday the 11th at 6pm to 7pm to collect those sleeping bags back off you. If you can take a few of them each we would very much appreciate it. They will be given out to our Nations Homeless,” they stated.
