New disabled parking bays were installed at three locations in the Portarlington Graiguecullen Municipal District since June.

Details of the new bays were outlined by Senior Executive Engineer, Tom Drennan, in the September monthly progress report.

He said a disabled parking bay was installed at St Brigids Square, Portarlington, outside the doctors in Stradbally and at The Crescent in Ballylinan.

The disabled spaces were included in a list of line marking works which had been carried out around the Municipal District.

The works included a renewed Stop Bar on the main road in Killenard, a renewed Stop Bar and a new Slow marking at O’Dempsey’s GAA field towards Killenards and renewed Stop Bars at Lough Gate, Portarlington and at a junction in Ballybrittas.

There were also renewed Stop Bars either side of Emo Gates towards Emo Court and at Timahoe, where centre lining was also renewed.

The works were outlined at the September meeting of Portarlington Graiguecullen Municipal District.
