Laois County Council may replace a damaged fence in Timahoe before the end of the year if it can find the money to do so.

Fianna Fáil Cllr Paschal McEvoy asked for the fix in a recent motion at a meeting in County Hall in Portlaoise.

He asked that the fence on the Stradbally Road, Timahoe, at the new houses be replaced as it is in "a very bad state”.

In response, Senior Executive Engineer, Tom Drennan said the Council has assessed the existing post and rail fence and will consider this for upgrade over the fourth quarter of 2025 "subject to available resources.”
