'Dangerously high speeds' on Laois motorway

Laois Gardai urge people to slow down after motorist clocked at 182kph at the weekend.

“Over this weekend, Laois Roads Policing Units detected far too many drivers travelling at dangerously high speeds on the M7 and M8,” gardaí said in an online post.

“For some, it will mean penalty points and fines that could easily be avoided. For others, it now means court appearances with serious consequences.

Each driver made a conscious choice to drive faster, a choice that could have changed lives forever,” Laois gardaí said.

“Speed might save a few minutes on your journey, but it can steal years from someone else’s. Behind every crash statistic is a family waiting for someone who never came home. Every journey matters.  Choose sense not seconds. Slow down!” gardaí concluded.
