Laois County Council will undertake an onsite data matching exercise in six cemeteries across the county next week.
The council will be using the cemetery mapping software Plotbox to collect the data which is needed for the implementation of a new Cemetery Management System.
The exercise will involve the use of drones, photography, and on the ground mapping. The completion of the exercise is weather permitted.
It will take place in Rathdowney Local Cemetery from 7.30am, Rathdowney Bealady Cemetery from 11am, and Anatrim Cemetery from 3pm all on Wednesday, November 26.

On Thursday, November 27, the exercise will take place in St Fergal's Cemetery in Camross from 7.30am and St Brigid's Cemetery in Rosenallis from 12.30pm.
It will take place in St Peter and Paul's Cemetery in Portlaoise on Friday, November 28. The process will begin at 7.30am and take the entire day to complete.
People who have family members buried in these cemeteries are being asked to ensure that the headstones of their loved ones are clean and that there is nothing blocking the names on the bottom of the headstones.
