Emergency services responded to a single vehicle crash on the M7 motorway in Laois this morning.

Gardaí said a Mercedes car came to rest in the middle of two lanes at Junction 21 on the M7 in Laois at around 10.20am.

They said the National Ambulance Service and the Fire Service attended the scene but there are not thought to have been any serious injuries. Work was underway to clear the scene before lunchtime.

Separately, Gardaí dealt with a second incident where a lorry had broken down at Junction 18 on the M7 motorway. It has now been cleared.

Garda reminded motorists to exercise caution when driving and to be aware of the road conditions.
