Portlaoise man honoured with lifetime achievement award at Midlands Park Hotel

Awards for pedigree cattle breeding were presented recently when breeders assembled at the Midlands Park Hotel in Portlaoise for the annual All-Star Awards.
Each breed society nominated its chosen recipient. Josephine O’Neill, Macra President, was in attendance as the special guest to make the presentations.
The Lifetime of Dedicated Service award was presented to Charlie Gallagher, former CEO of the Irish Holstein Friesian Association, on his retirement.
The Portlaoise resident's career spanned more than four and a half decades, during which he served farming with dedicated professionalism.
“A gentleman in every sense of the word, his unassuming character commanded respect from everyone who met him.
Congratulations, Charlie,” said Sean Sherman. Tap NEXT or ARROW TO SEE MORE PHOTOS TAKEN ON THE NIGHT BY ALF HARVEY.
