Ireland's Ancient East village in Laois gets bin collection

A new public rubbish bin collection services is underway in a Laois village that is on the Ireland's Ancient East tourist trail, according to a county councillor who says the public are happy the initiative.

Cllr Tom Mulhall said Laois County Council has started to empty the bins in Timohoe every Tuesday morning since early January.

"This is very welcoming news. Timahoe is a very scenic village and with a very good Tidy Towns committee, this will be a wonderful help to the people of the village

"I was asked to make representations on this issue and I am delighted with the council's response," he said.

Timahoe is on the Ireland's Ancient East map thanks to its round tour and heritage centre.
