Cllr Tom Mulhall said Laois County Council has started to empty the bins in Timohoe every Tuesday morning since early January.

"This is very welcoming news. Timahoe is a very scenic village and with a very good Tidy Towns committee, this will be a wonderful help to the people of the village

"I was asked to make representations on this issue and I am delighted with the council's response," he said.

Timahoe is on the Ireland's Ancient East map thanks to its round tour and heritage centre.
