Laois man raises €7,500 for three worthy local charities

A Laois man has raised and donated €7,500 to three well-known Laois causes doing remarkable work in the county. 

Seamus Meaney from Ballyadams in Laois held his annual fundraiser in September for Kolbe, MS Laois and Shaen Hospital.

He raised a grand total of €7,500 after he single-handedly selling €2 tickets knocking on doors all around the county which culminated with a fantastic Tea Dance evening in the community hall in Portarlington on September 7.

Mr Meaney has done this every year for over 10 years and he is well-known as a fantastic patron of all three institutions. 

The cheque presentations were made last month in Portlaoise Parish Centre.
