BREAKING: Five injured in car crash near Ballinabranna

Five people have been injured after a car crash in Ballinabranagh on the Laois side of Carlow. 

Five occupants - a male and four females - have been injured in the accident. Two are in serious condition. 

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a single vehicle road traffic collision that occurred at Clogrennane, Ballinabranagh, Co Carlow March 20 at approximately 11.50am.

Five occupants of a car, a man in his 20s and four female youths in their teens have been taken to The Midland Regional Hospital and St Lukes General Hospital Kilkenny.

A technical and forensic examination of the scene is currently underway.

The road remains closed and diversions are in place.
