‘Messed up’ claim on cemetery mass

Inspector Aidan Farrelly has apologised to Mountmellick Cemetery Committee for not attending last July’s cemetery mass, when drivers reportedly “abandoned” cars and verbally abused Civil Defence parking volunteers.

Inspector Aidan Farrelly has apologised to Mountmellick Cemetery Committee for not attending last July’s cemetery mass, when drivers reportedly “abandoned” cars and verbally abused Civil Defence parking volunteers.

“We had a member detailed for duty but they were on sick leave. That happens. They were covered by traffic corps but they were called to a serious accident. I apologise. We messed up there, I will make sure it won’t happen again,” he said at the JPC meeting.
