Schools set to connect on mental health

On Tuesday, October 1 Portlaoise library hosts and event based best selling author and motivational speaker Nicholas Oiboh.

The morning event is called The Secrets of Academic Giants - how to improve learning and self development for teenagers.

The talk will outline how teens can improve their study techniques but also work on their confidence and self-development.

Meanwhile, the Crosstheline a project developed by four students of Scoil Chríost Rí, Portlaoise will be delivered in Mountmellick Community School.

The Transition Year project is based on peer-to-peer youth mental health awareness and was created to help other students let go of their fears and worries and develop skills to move on from stressful situations.
