A ‘whale’ in the Triogue

“Did you catch anything?”

“Did you catch anything?”

“I caught a whale yesterday.”

“A whale?”

“Yeah, a bicycle ‘whale’.”

It was an old panto joke told by Cllr Noel Tuohy, but the condition of the bank along the River Triogue was certainly no laughing matter, when he recently called on Laois County Council to clean it up.

He received a written reply from the council’s environment section, saying this area will be inspected.
