A Wicklow man has been charged with having drugs for sale in Laois worth €13,000 or more.
Paul Gilligan, 13 Dargle Heights, Bray, Wicklow, was also charged with drug possession, and an additional charge of having drugs for sale or supply, at Meelick, Portlaoise, on September 5 last year.
Sgt JJ Kirby told last week’s sitting of the Portlaoise District Court that he had served a book of evidence on the accused.
There was no objection to bail, and Gilligan has been sent forward to the next sitting of Portlaoise Circuit Court on May 5.
Judge Catherine Staines assigned legal aid to Mr Michael Hennessy, with one junior counsel and one senior counsel assigned to defence.
