Councillors are concerned that Laois will pay for the new Carlow Northern Relief Road to be built and then Carlow will claim the area in the boundary review.
“Carlow are trying to take the whole area after we went to the trouble and expense of putting in the Northern Relief Road. It’s terrible to think we may be doing all this for a different county,” Cllr John Moran said.
Director of Services, Kieran Kehoe told the councillors the road was for the people of Graigue.
“We are doing the Northern Relief Road because it was needed and for the benefit of the people of Graiguecullen. It’s being paid for using development contributions that were collected in the area.”
