Urgent roadworks are needed at Ballyluske in Ballyfin, described by Cllr David Goodwin as “almost impassable” at last Monday’s area meeting.
He requested the council take “immediate action to strengthen and resurface the road”, seconded by Cllr Seamus McDonald.
“The road is on this year’s strengthening programme,” said engineer Tom O’Carroll.
“Maybe you could start it as soon as you can, the Mountrath end has been done, its really making a laugh of the Mountmellick end,” said Cllr Goodwin.
“I will prioritise it, it will be done very quickly,” said Mr O’Carroll.
