Laois communities shine brightly at Laois Tidy Towns Awards

One of the main Laois Federation of Tidy Towns accolades went to Durrow Tidy Town which won the Overall Impression Town Award. READ MORE ABOUT WHAT THE JUDGES FOUND BELOW PICTURE. TO SEE THE NEXT WINNER TAP NEXT OR ARROW.

The judges said Durrow looks beautiful any time of year. On a sunny day in August it looks spectacular. With a great colour palette in all the tubs and open planting areas around the town and approach roads. It was noted from a plaque on the wall that Durrow has been involved in Tidy Towns since 1966.

Durrow also had two impressive large green areas in the centre of the town that are put to great use for festivals including the acclaimed Scarecrow Festival.

The square is framed by beautiful Georgian buildings which add a great sense of grandeur to the square.
