The Heath National School is going to hold a Christmas themed tractor run on Sunday, December 11.
The fundraiser is being organised by the school’s Parents Council, as they seek to raise funds for a much-needed playground for their infant classes.
The Tractor Run will be open to farmers and tractor lovers of all ages, with a junior event for all pedal-powered vehicles kicking off at 2.30pm, and the main event then beginning at 4pm. Those attending are asked to make the most of the Christmas season by decorating their tractors with lights, tinsel or any other festive adornments.
Chairperson of the school’s Parents Council, Sarah Kelly is one of the organisers of the event. “Given that we are a rural school, we wanted to do something that would tie in with the farming community,” she explained.
“We hope that the first Heath NS Tractor Run will be well-received by farmers, parents, and children alike with a view to raising funds to develop a new play area for the infant classes,” said Ms Kelly.
The meeting point on the day is the green area outside The Heath Church, with registration for the main tractor run taking place from 3pm in the hall adjoining The Heath Church. Registration fee is a minimum of €20 and all donations on the day are greatly appreciated. Contact Sarah Kelly on 086-1544122 for more information.
