John Scales - Castletown

The death took place on Sunday, November 27 of John Scales of Old Borris, Castletown, and formerly of Doolin, Co. Clare.

Suddenly, at his home. Predeceased by his brother Thomas and sister Cathleen. Deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by his loving wife Joan, sons Michael, John, Anthony and Patrick, daughters Joanna, Mary, Jacqueline and Claire, sisters Mary, Helen and Jane, sister in law Margaret, grandaughter Caitlin, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Reposing in Guilfoyle's Funeral Home, Castletown, Eircode R32 TN84 this Wednesday evening from 6pm with rosary in the funeral home at 8pm. Funeral Mass this Thursday at 12 noon in St. Edmund's Church, Castletown followed by interment in St. Fintan's Cemetery, Mountrath.

Joanna Kaletka - Portlaoise

The death took place on Sunday, November 27 of Joanna Kaletka, Fernsbridge, Monasterevin and Portlaoise and formerly Krakow, Poland.

At Tallaght Hospital. Peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Loving mother to Monika and Agnieszka. Cherished grandmother to Olivia. Deeply regretted by her loving family and their partners. Nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Keegans Funeral home Portlaoise ( R32 Y368) on Tuesday evening from 7pm until 8 pm. Removal on Wednesday to arrive at SS Peter and Pauls church for 12 noon requiem Mass. https://www.portlaoiseparish.ie/webcam/ Interment will follow in SS Peter and Pauls Cemetery, Portlaoise.

George Keyes - Portlaoise

The death took place on Sunday, November 27, of George Keyes (Snr) St Brigid's Place, Portlaoise, Laois

Peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Christine. Dearly loved father to Richard, Geoge (Jnr), Catherine, Christine, Julie, Brenda, Diane, Georgina and Ashling. Cherished grandfather to his large number of grandchildren and great-grandchilden. Nephews, nieces, relatives and many friends.

Reposing at his residence from 2pm on Tuesday. Removal on Wednesday to arrive at SS Peter and Paul's Church for 2pm requiem Mass https://www.portlaoiseparish.ie/webcam/ Private cremation will follow afterwards. Family flowers only. If you wish to make a donation to the Irish Cancer Society it will be appreciated by the family.

Owen Boland - Ballybrittas

The death took place on Sunday, November 27 of Owen Boland, Ballintogher House, Ballybrittas, Laois

Owen passed away peacefully, in the Regional Hospital Portlaoise, in his 94th year, in the company of his loving family. Deeply regretted by his wife Mary, son John, daughter Maria and her partner Patrick. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters Ned, Fr. John, Norah and Kathleen, Owen's brother in law Fr. Billy Behan. Sadly missed by his nephews, nieces, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at his residence on Monday from 5pm to 8pm with recital of the Rosary at 8pm. Removal, by Whelehan Funeral Directors, on Tuesday morning at 11.20am, to arrive at The Sacred Heart Church, Rath, for 12 noon Requiem Mass. Interment to follow in the new cemetery, Emo. Owen's Requiem Mass will be live streamed on https://youtu.be/lloiRc9X2Dc.

Family flowers only. House private on Tuesday morning, please.

Patrick Cahill - Castletown

The death took place on Saturday, November 26 of Patrick (Pauric, Paddy) Cahill of Westfield, Castletown and Mountrath and formerly of Ballacolla.

Reunited on the 26th of November with his recently deceased wife. Paddy passed away peacefully in the Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased in April by his wife Mary (nee Guilfoyle) also Predeceased by his sons Pat and Ronnie, his sisters Katie (Henry, Ballacolla), Cecilia (Beesley, Dublin) and brother Son (Cashin, Ballacolla).

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family, sons Ken and Vivian, daughters Mary and Cathleen (Catherine), brother Tom (Cashin, Ballacolla), sisters Maureen (Hayes, Tramore); Breda (Fitzpatrick, London); daughter-in-law Martina and sons-in-law Steve and Sham; grandchildren Patrick, Blayne, Niamh and Ronan; adored great -grandson Connell, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. 

Reposing in his home at Westfield, Castletown (EirCode R32 F2X5) this Tuesday evening (Nov.29th) from 5pm with rosary in the house at 8pm. Funeral Mass this Wednesday (Nov.30th) at 12 noon in St. Edmund's Church Castletown, followed by interment in St. Fintan's Cemetery, Mountrath.
