Borris-in-Ossory ICA Guild will hold its monthly meeting on this Wednesday night May 6 in St Canice’s Hall at 8pm. All members asked to attend. New members welcome.
First Communion for pupils from Killadooley National School will take place in the Church of the Assumption, Killasmeestia on this Saturday 9th May at 11am
The next meeting of the Gardening Group will be held on Thursday 14th of May at 8.oc in St Canice’s Hall. In a change from our usual meeting, this month we have a Guest speaker coming to talk to us. Mary Keenan B.Agr.Sc (L.Hort.) from Gash Gardens, Castletown will be talking about all things garden related and it should be a great night. This meeting is open to everyone with a cover charge of just £2 so please feel free to attend.
There are still places available on the Borris in Ossory ICA trip in July. The venue this year is Wicklow, staying at the Arklow Bay Hotel. The trip will take place from Monday July 6 to Friday July 10 and will include visits to Glendalough, Powerscourt, Russborough House and other places of interest. It is also planned to spend a day in Dublin . The total cost will be €370 which includes four nights’ bed and breakfast/ evening meal in the Arklow Bay Hotel, luxury coach with a guide for the five days. Sympathy is extended to Mrs Joan Quinlan on the recent death of her mother, the late Mrs Margaret, (Rita) Sullivan, nee Quinlan, Barna, Dunkerrin. Her remains reposed at her son John’s residence, Barna until removal on Saturday April 25 to St Cumins Church, Barna. Requiem Mass was celebrated on Sunday April 26, with burial immediately afterwards in Dunkerrin New Cemetery. The late Mrs Sullivan is deeply regretted by her sons, daughters, grandchildren, extended family, relatives and friends.

PROGRESSIVE 25 DRIVE
The annual Micheal Dooley Memorial Progressive 25 Card game will take place in the O’Brien Hall on Thursday May 21 at 9pm and it is hoped for a big turn out.
Congratulations to all the pupils from St Joseph’s Primary School who made their Frist Holy Communion in St. Canice’s Church, Borris-in-Ossory, last Saturday.
