Major housing development planned for Ballylinan

Building Boom: Kildare senator says construction grants should rise in line with material costs

Almost 100 houses, a creche and provision for a shop is being planned for a site in Ballylinan.

JC Brenco Developments Ltd has applied to Laois County Council to build the major development at Rahin, Ballylinan. 

The development will construct of 99 new dwellings each with private amenity and parking spaces, the plans reveal. 

The houses will consist of seven four bed two storey detached houses, 12 four bed two storey semi-detached houses, 60 three bed two storey semi detached houses, eight two bed single storey semi detached houses, 12 two bed semi detached two story and a creche along with provision for a retail premises and 18 associated car parking spaces.  

The developer is also seeking to include: “Provision of new vehicular and pedestrian entrances, internal access roads, footpaths, communal open spaces, connection to services, associated boundary treatment, landscaping, drainage and all associated site works to facilitate the development.”

The planning application was lodged with Laois County Council on December 5 and a decision is expected to be made in February.
