An man aged 80 has died following a road traffic collision on the Tullamore road just outside Clara.
Gardaí attended the scene of the collision involving a car and a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 7:45pm on Thursday, December 15 2022, on the R420, Tullamore, Co. Offaly.
Gardaí say he was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Midlands Regional Hospital Tullamore. No other injuries were reported.
The road was closed to allow for a technical examination to be conducted by Forensic Collision Investigators.
Gardaí say they are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the R420 between Tullamore and Clara, between 7.30pm and 8pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
