Woman charged with assaulting garda to have case heard in Portlaoise

Garda was allegedly assaulted in Monasterevin, County Kildare

The initial details were heard at Naas District Court

A garda was allegedly assaulted by a woman at her Monasterevin home will have the case dealt with next in Portlaoise Court.

Agnieska Konarzewska, with an address given as 1163 Drogheda Street in Monasterevin, appeared in Naas District Court on Thursday, December 15 where gardaí executed a bench warrant against her.

The woman, aged 44, is accused of assaulting the garda at her home on August 15, 2020.

This alleged offence would be in contravention of Section 2 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, 1997.

Judge Desmond Zaidan remanded the defendant on continuing bail until the case returns to Portlaoise District Court on December 22.
