The top section of the road between Arles and Maidenhead is wearing off as a result of heavy traffic volumes and drainage

At the recent meeting of Lugacurren Area Committee, Councillor John Moran asked the council to repair the long potholes that have appeared on the road. Cllr Moran said the potholes were on the bend, making them very difficult to avoid.

In reply, area engineer said: “A section of approximately 20 metres has seen a serious strip of the HRA wearing course layer. This is the result of both heavy traffic volumes and drainage.”

She said due to the location and the nature of the damage, it was not possible to pot hole repair this and a section of approximately 80 metres will have to be planned out and replaced.

Ms Barrett said had made an application to the NRA for money to repair the road and she hoped that the work would be carried out in the next 4-6weeks on receipt of funding,
