The junction of the N80 and Crookedy Road in Laois
The Crookedy Road near Portlaoise in Laois is a cause of complaint for local residents.
The surface condition of the road is poor, says Cllr Catherine Fitzgerald.
She tabled a motion to the January meeting of Portlaoise Municipal District, requesting that the road be resurfaced.
Crookedy Road is quite aptly named, a local road with several sharp bends that links the Ridge Road to the N80 road to Mountmellick road from Portlaoise.
"I heard a good few complaints about its condition. It is used regularly," Cllr Fitzgerald said.
In response, engineer Wes Wilkinson said the roads office of Portlaoise MD will examine the location to consider it for funding under the 2023 roads programme.
"That's a positive response," Cllr Fitzgerald said.
