A Laois road on the outskirts of Portlaoise often used as a shortcut, has had its road closure extended.

Laois County Council has temporarily closed part of the L2115 at Ballytegan, in the Portlaoise Municipal District.

It is locally known as the Crookedy Road. It is closed on the Ridge Road side.

The road closure is to allow drainage works to be carried out, near where the road crosses the River Triogue.

The road was closed on August 12 and was due to open on August 18, however it has been extended until this Friday, August 22, at 6pm.
