Portlaoise has another new roundabout, newly installed to serve two housing estates under construction.
Laois County Council says that traffic signs, streetlights and roadmarking are not yet complete, for The Borris Road Roundabout on the outskirts of rapidly expanding Portlaoise town.
It has been installed to serve the Dargan Woods and Pheasant Lane developments, and the council say it is now open to motorists.
"There are some items to be completed to close out the project: Public lighting yet to be installed.
"A proposed railing to the South-East of the roundabout is under review for feasibility prior to installation.
"Minor traffic signage / road marking amendments under review," Laois County Council stated at their September meeting.

Dargan Woods is a private development of 72 houses with another 22 recently granted permission. Pheasant Lane is also a private development of 23 homes.
Portlaoise is well known for its many roundabouts, including the tricky triple roundabouts at the junction of Bridge Street, Stradbally road, Dublin Road, Ridge Road and Borris Road.
A recent councillor has described the town as having one "every ten yards".
