Two week road closure in Laois town to fix busy bridge

The Summergrove road off Derrycloney bridge closed due to flooding last weekend.

Roads at Derrycloney Bridge will close for two weeks in order to fix a bridge culvert in the area.

Two roads will be closed to public traffic to allow for replacement of a Bridge Culvert according to Laois County Council. Access for residents will be accommodated where possible and diversions will be signposted.

The road closures will be at the following locations:

Road: L2097 Derrycloney
From at Point: Owenass Bridge
To a Point: Junction with R422 at Summergrove

Road: L20975 Manor Road
From at Point: Junction with L2097 at Derrycloney
To a Point: Junction at Manor House

The road closures will start at 08:00 on Monday, January 29 2018 to 17:00 on Friday, February 9 2018.

This is a busy back road for traffic going to and from Mountmellick, Rosenallis, Mountmellick and Ballyfin areas.
