Dublin Cork Limerick M7 motorway closed after crash in Laois
Part of the M7 motorway which connects Dublin/Cork/Limerick via Laois has been closed southbound at the Junction 16 Portlaoise following a crash.
The road was closed on Thursday morning and remained closed at 10:30am. The crash has taken place near Junction 16 East at The Heath.

It is not known if any injuries have been reported yet. It is understood Laois Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene of the crash which involved a truck.
Transport Infrastructure Ireland Traffic has reported that all services are at the scene and the whole road has been closed.

The M7 has been closed southbound at J16 Portlaoise until approximately 1pm, Thursday following a crash.
Gardaí are advising motorists to divert via the old Dublin Rd (R445) to Portlaoise Town before rejoining the M7 at J17 Portlaoise Centre.

UPDATE:
Laois Assistant Chief Fire Officer, Anthony Tynan, spoke to the Leinster Express around 3pm.
"A truck crashed into the side of the motorway. There were no serious injuries but cleaning the truck off the road took a while. The fire service, gardai and the Motorway Emergency Response Service attended the scene. The gardai have a diversion in place and it is moving fairly well now. It should be back to normal shortly," he said.
Portlaoise badly hit by traffic as M7 motorway remains closed.
