There is danger for pedestrians on a Portlaoise crossroad where 'sat navs' are sending drivers through a “serious junction”.

The R425 and L6773 Ballycarnan Ballyknocken crossroads is to have road markings repainted, after a motion requesting same by Cllr Willie Aird to the April meeting of Portlaoise Municipal District.

Cllr Aird emphasised the dangers.

Laois County Council's Portlaoise MD roads office will now refresh and improve the road markings at the junction.
