Plans for a new high-power electric vehicle charging hub for a Laois service station has been given the green light by Laois County Council.  Applicant Ard Services Ltd. has been approved for the new infrastructure at Circle K Manor Stone Service Station, Off Junction 3 on the M8 Motorway at Ballacolla.

They have been granted permission to construct eight electric vehicle charging bays and four charging points which will replace fourteen existing spaces. The application also sought permission for the installation of a new EV canopy with associated illuminated signage, new modular ESB Substation, a new EV banner and other signage, signature wall, relocation of existing lighting columns, new road markings and all other associated drainage and site development works.

The application was granted permission by the local authority with seven conditions attached.
