There are over 2,000 homes and businesses in the Mountmellick area without power on Saturday, February 1. There are 2,124 ESB customers without power in the town with an estimated restoration time of 5pm on Saturday evening, according to ESB powercheck. Another fault in the Mountmellick area affecting 22 homes and businesses has a restoration time of 12.15pm on Tuesday, February 4. The outages come just a week after Storm Éowyn left thousands across the county without electricity and water.
"We apologise for the loss of supply. We are currently working to repair a fault affecting your premises and will restore power as quickly as possible," said an ESB spokesperson.
Meanwhile Laois Macra has been forced to postpone their National Capers Final in Mountmellick tonight due to the power outage.
